Yellow Tail are being caught all year long …. up to 35-50 pounds. A great fighting fish and BIG! Cabrilla, Dorado, Sea Bass and other fish are in abundance during the summer months. Take your catch to any restaurant and they will cook it for you three different styles all for around $6-8 per person. What a deal!

Also, February and March are “Whale Watching” months here in Loreto. The Blue Whale (largest whale) is here in the Sea of Cortez. You can also take excursions to the Pacific side and see other whales.

Mardi Gras is celebrated in Loreto every year but the date does change; email for more information.

Every June and July there are Fishing Tournaments. One is the Tripui Dorado Fishing Tournament in June and the other is Fishing for the Mission in July; email for more information as dates change every year.

December 1-5 is the annual San Javier Festival in the nearby town of San Javier. People come from all over Mexico and some other parts of the world to participate in this event.
